Starting your day with a healthy Green Breakfast Smoothie is a great way to get energized & feel awesome. It’s deliciously tasty & healthy… the perfect combo! You’ll be ready for anything after this.

  • Prep Time: 2 minutes
  • Cook Time: 3 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

This Green Smoothie is a great beginner smoothie recipe. It’s full of iron, potassium & vitamins galore— & tastes like a tropical treat from all the island fruit. Not a fan of bananas? Swap it for 1/4 avocado or & another 1/2 cup mango to the recipe.

INGREDIENTS

  • sh1 cup spinach (fre) or supergreens
  • 1/2 cup almond milk (optional)
  • 1/2 cup water (1 cup if no milk)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pineapple
  • 1/2 cup mango
  • 1 banana (peeled)
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • ice as desired

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Tightly pack spinach in a measuring cup.
  2. Add spinach to blender with water. Blend together until all chunks are gone. (Should resemble green water when blended well).
  3. Add pineapple, mango & banana to blender. I like to use frozen pineapple & mangos to chill the smoothie down & save time cutting & prepping. It’s a win-win!
  4. Blend all together until smooth & creamy. Depending on your blender, this could take as little as 30 seconds or as long as 2 minutes.
  5. Pour into a glass & serve immediately.
  6. You can also store the smoothie in the fridge with a lid until ready to drink.

Berry Detox Smoothie!

This beautiful smoothie is full of healthy cleansing nutrients to fuel your body & mind. Berries give you rich antioxidants & the honey will give you a boost of energy.  The honey helps to cleanse your liver & ginger promotes energy circulation in the body.  The omega-3 rich chia seeds keep you full & support brain health. Lemons are a natural diuretic and help the body to flush fluids.

  • Prep Time: 2 minutes
  • Cook Time: 3 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cup mixed frozen strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds (stir in after blending)
  • large handful of baby spinach/kale mix (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender (except the chia seeds) and blend till smooth.
  2. Stir in the chia seeds.
  3. Notes: Original recipe doesn’t have spinach/kale in it. I added some to mine to get more greens in!

Lemon Cleanser!

Abbey Jade Cosmetics Smoothie Blog

It’s not as bitter as it sounds! The lemon is a fantastic way to cleanse a few key organs. As toxins build up in the body, they force you to feel sluggish and glum. They also make you more susceptible to illness like the flu. Adding lemon to a green smoothie gives the organs that remove toxins a good cleansing. The mango & banana give the sweetness to counteract the lemons sometimes sour flavour.

  • Prep Time: 2 minutes
  • Cook Time: 3 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups kale (fresh)
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups mango
  • 1/2 lemon (peeled or juiced)
  • 1 banana

INSTRUCTIONS

  1.  Blend kale and water together until smooth.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and blend again.
  3. Pour into a glass & serve immediately.
  4. You can also store the smoothie in the fridge with a lid until ready to drink

So these three smoothies give you a great start to detoxifying & revitalising your skin & body. Of course you can adjust them to your liking by adding other ingredients, in particular protein powders are a perfect addition. Enjoy & have fun. Oh and stay NATURALLY TRUE!
